Ninety Nine Home to New Car Recharge Station

Electric cars can now refill their tanks in Westford and several other Ninety Nine Restaurants across the Commonwealth.

Westford has eight gas stations, but now there’s one more place in town where you can get what you need to keep your car going.

Late last month, the on Littleton Road became the recipient of a new electric vehicle recharging station, one of 11 installed at Ninety Nine restaurants across the Commonwealth.

The initiative is a joint effort of National Grid and Columb Technologies “Charge Point America” program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.

While Ninety Nine Restaurants president John Grady noted that the station hadn’t brought in a significant increase in business, he hopes it can start a trend while also reaping positive benefits for his business and Westford as a whole.

“We’ve been looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint, we’ve reduced gas and electricity usage, and then National Grid approached us with this idea,” said Grady.  “This probably won’t be a big traffic generator, it was just a good thing to do; a thing that shows we’re trying to be good to the community and a good neighbor.”
