PHOTOS: Stony Brook Helps Set New World Record
All the students of Stony Brook Middle School gathered outside yesterday to help set a new Guinness Book world record for most children doing jumping jacks at the same time, a feat coordinated by National Geographic Kids and First Lady Michelle Obama.
In lieu of what would have otherwise been a plain old fire drill, Stony Brook Middle School principal Peter Cohen lined up his students to help break a world record.
The record, which was coordinated by National Geographic Kids Magazine and U.S first lady Michelle Obama, sought to have more people doing jumping jacks in a 24 hour period than in any other day in recorded history.
For the sake of full disclosure, Westford Patch was asked to be the independent witness for the event with Guiness Book. And while we didn't count each and every student there, it's a safe bet to say that everyone in the school that day was out and jumping around.
