Post Season Ends and Beginnings for Ghosts
Westford Academy wrestlings saw disappointment in Salem while the hockey and basketball teams are just about set for post season play.

While 's team wrestling season had long since ended, two Grey Ghost grapplers were able to make it to the All-State tournament in Salem where they faced the best individual wrestlers from schools of all sizes throughout the Commonwealth.
In the 120 pound division, Connor Peacock defeated Adan Marquez of Greater Lawrence before falling to Mike Mui of Hingham in the quarterfinals.

220 pounder Nate Tashjy also struggled, losing to Alex Colon of Woburn in the first round in his weight class bracket.
Basketball
The Grey Ghosts will hit the hardwood as the Division 1 North sectional playoffs begin this weekend.
On the boys' side, they have the three seed, and will face the winner of the Billerica/Cambridge Rindge and Latin matchup at home on Thursday night at 7.
If they can advance, they will likely have two main obstacles betwen them and the sectional title. The first comes in the form of archrival Acton-Boxborough, likely secured them the Dual County League regular season championship and was likely pivotal in their second seed.
The top seed belongs to Central Catholic, who took the Merrimack Valley League regular season crown by nearly going undefeated, their only loss coming at the hands of Lowell.
On the girls' side, hopes are equally high for the fourth seeded Ghosts.
They'll start things off with a home matchup against Revere on Tuesday night at 7, and will face either Billerica or Central Catholic in the quarterfinals if they can move on from there.
The main obstacle to glory is two-time defending state champ and top seed Andover, who trounced Westford in the . However, third seed Masconomet, who gave the Ghosts one of their three regular season losses, will be a difficult draw if they the two happen to meet in the sectional finals.
Hockey
The boys were unable to take home the Irish-American Shootout crown, losing 3-2 in the finals matchup against Milton in what was fittingly enough, decided by an overtime shootout.
Westford won't be in the Super 8 Tournament, and the Ghosts in both genders will wait for sectional brackets to be released on Tuesday.
Currently the Boston Globe ranks the boys at 12th in the state, and the girls at 17th.
