Rogue Flying Squirrel Captured After Crisafulli School Adventure
A flying squirrel that broke into the Crisafulli Elementary School Tuesday was captured by teachers and released back into the wild.
A flying squirrel's mission to infiltrate the Crisafulli Elementary School was grounded Wednesday.
The squirrel was discovered in a classroom Wednesday morning. Three teachers cornered it, scooped it into a plastic container, and released it back into the wild, according to Principal Julie Vincentsen. She informed parents about the incident in a letter home.
The squirrel apparently hit four classrooms on its adventure, as droppings were found on windowsills, Vincentsen wrote. The areas were cleaned.

There was also some evidence of droppings in the attic.
"The custodial staff will be doing an additional and thorough cleaning of all areas where evidence was found," Vincentsen wrote. "We will also be having an inspector come out from the district’s pest control company to determine whether further action is needed."
