Save Some Bread While Buying Local Bread

Last week, Westford Patch reader Anastasia O'Malley recommended that we take a look at whole grain breads for this Grocery Hunt, but we came upon a fairly unique problem.

While there have been times when it has been tricky to do what can be "apples and oranges" comparisons between grocery stores (literally and figuratively), this week took the cake, or in this case, the baguette. 

While we did the best we could to get exact comparisons in terms of "specialty" breads, what we found varied more significantly than usual in our grocery listings, so please use these prices as a baseline.

Also, some of the stores used 16 ounces instead of one pound, so we marked it down as it appeared even though 16 ounces is one pound.
