Grey Ghost Softball Advances With Playoff Win Over Chelmsford
Westford Academy snagged a 5-2 preliminary round win on Thursday afternoon and will play at least one more game.
Westford Academy softball players aren't on summer break quite yet.
That's because the Grey Ghosts opened their postseason with a 5-2 win over nearby Chelmsford on Thursday afternoon in the preliminary round of the North Division 1 tournament.
With the victory, Westford advanced to face No. 2 seed Framingham on the first round of the bracket. Framingham enters the game coming off of a preliminary round bye thanks to a regular season record of 18-2.

The contest is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. with the winner to take on either Methuen or Newton North in the quarterfinals.
