TELL US: What Are Your Thoughts on Abbot Mills' Dog DNA Poop Testing?

Dog feces at the new property will be tested using DNA analysis. Is this a good idea, or is it an invasion of privacy?

At the beginning of October, all dog owners at the Abbot Mill complex were given a letter indicating they had to pay $25 to get a DNA sample of their pooch on file just in case dog feces was found on the property.

Residents not providing a DNA sample or found with a dog who dropped feces on Abbot Mill property have to have a $100 fine, with the possibility of those who don't pay finding their leases terminated.

According to a report by the Lowell Sun, only five percent of the residents at the complex own dogs, and the DNA system has been used at other properties in North Andover and New Hampshire.

Today we want to hear what you think: is this an invasion of privacy or is it a good idea to help keep sidewalks and lawns in the area clean and sanitary?
