Becca Robey was the game star for the Snitches and poured in 14 points, 10 in a furious second half. Tianna Habosian poured in three 3-pointers. Excellent defense was played by Demi Zhang and Erin Shaughnessey. The Peppers had a balanced attack with Rebecca Shepherd (12 points), Kirsten Leary (11 points) and Caroline Rosinski (8 points) with big contribution. Cassie Bernardo led a tenacious defense for the Peppers.
Cool Blue 27
Lucky Leprechauns 20
Brook Mains led Cool Blue with 9 points. There was some amazing passing by Alyssa Ingalls to Kristina Reny who netted 6 points. A great team effort. For the Leprechauns ‘Kenzie’ Brewer had an awesome game leading all scorers with 12 points.
Yellow Submarines 46
Ocean Spray 40
The undefeated Subs were almost sunk by Ocean Spray. In a close and high scoring affair the Yellow Submarines beat Ocean Spray 46-40. The game was close the entire night but the subs were able to pull it out in the second half after training 10-16 after the first half. Jillian Chrysikos of the Subs led all scorers with 27 points. Hailey MacDonald raced up and down the court for the Spray and potted a team high 17 points. Bri Mills an Amy Cornelius controlled the boards for the Subs especially in the final furious minutes. One of the game highlights was a steal and fast break basket by Maimuna Ahmad.
Butter 35
Black Mambas 28
Butter Basted the Mambas in a ‘frying pan hot’ contest 35-28. Butter’s Stacy Shackleton led all scorers with 14 followed by teammate Julie Bransfield with 10. The Mamba’s Amanda Brook absolutely owned the boards, blocked numerous shots and put in 10 points in a great effort. Both teams were outstanding in a game undecided until the final two minutes.
Hot Shots 32
Crocodile Hunters 16
Battling through substitute coaching the Hot Shots bested the Crocodile hunters in an exciting victory. The Hot Shots had great intensity from everyone with great rebounding by Meghan Carlyle and Jackie Joncas. Micki Downey and Lauren Marple played outstanding defense. Haley Flaherty-Dawson and Sarah Boughan made great passes for the hot Shots. Sarah Brunelle and Alesia Raczelowski had great shots and Danielle Victory was a third coach (aiding the two Victorys on the bench) on the floor. Offense for the Crocodile Hunters was led by Nicole Callahan and Katie Campbell. Aggressive defense was played by Melanie Parante and the sisters Casey, Meghan and Jessica. Jen Rigby had a great overall game with her trademark leaps for many key rebounds. A fun game for all to watch and good luck to both teams for the rest of the season.
Periwinkle Platypi 27
Da Bullz 19
The Periwinkle Platypi overcame a three point deficit in the second half to defeat Da Bullz 27-19 as they pulled away in the final minute. Taylor Freud led the Platypi with 19 points with Elise Paugh and Catherine Darin both adding 4. Dipanshi Shah played excellent defense with numerous key steals and disruption Da Bullz offense. Da Bullz were led by Becca Goodman in scoring with contributions by Rachel Mahan, Molly Curley, Shannon Harris and Kayla Flanagan
