Follow Up
March 31, 1:22 a.m. – A neighbor living on Boston Road was jostled awake when she heard the loud screeching noise of a motor vehicle accident on the corner of Boston and Crown Road.
Although there was broken glass and tire marks in the vicinity, the vehicle had left the scene, leaving car parts and markings in the pavement all the way down Graniteville Street to Broadway Street, leading to where they found a pickup truck parked in a driveway with driver side damage and a lack of driver side tires.
No one opened the door at that residence, although a neighbor said that he had heard the vehicle arrive in the driveway recently.
Police estimated that the vehicle traveled in the wrong lane for 478 feet along Graniteville Road, with the truck’s hubcaps and tires located at various points along the way.
When found several days later, the operator of the vehicle was given a criminal citation for alleged operation to endanger, leaving the scene of property damage, marked lane violations, and speeding greater than reasonable.
