The United Methodist Church of Westford (UMCW) is excited to welcome our new pastor, Rev. Dr. Seok-Hwan Hong. Rev. Hong’s first service will be held on Sunday, July 2 at 9:30 am at UMCW, located at 10 Church Street in Westford MA.
Rev. Hong comes to UMCW after spending the last seven years as District Superintendent for the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts district of the United Methodist Church. Previously he pastored congregations in Cambridge and Andover MA, and in Portland Maine.

A native of South Korea, Rev. Hong came to the United States in the 1980s after receiving his Master of Divinity at the Methodist Seminary in Korea. He received a Master of Theological Studies at Emory University in Atlanta and a Ph.D. from Boston University in 2002.

"I am excited to begin my ministry at the United Methodist Church of Westford, and so grateful to have an opportunity to serve in this active and loving congregation,” said Rev. Hong.” “I seek to share the gospel in plain language for those who believe they are spiritual, but may not personally believe in any particular religion.
Rev. Hong continued, “I want to answer the question: how does one find God in the everyday situations of life? This is important not just for people who live in the church, but for those who live in the everyday world. So how do we find God in our ordinary life? That will be a primary focus in my ministry.”
