Westford Academy Holiday Bazaar Draws A Crowd

Local artists sell holiday-inspired wares at booths throughout the high school.

Residents flocked to the 42nd at Westford Academy on Saturday.

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event, running throughout the halls and the gym of the high school, featured “over 200 crafters and food vendors” selling items as diverse as batiks, hand-woven scarves and hats, blown-glass ornaments, wooden-milled house wares, custom handmade jewelry, and other holiday gift ideas. One vendor, Twisted Silver, crafted kitchen chimes out of antique silverware.

The parking lots were full by 10 a.m. and the halls were often elbow-to-elbow with those perusing the tables laden with crafts and decorations. The Westford Academy band set the mood with holiday music and members of various school clubs sold baked goods and other items to raise money for their associations.

The event was part of a three-way raffle in town. Residents received hand stamps and were entered in the raffle if they visited the bazaar along with the First Parish Church Greens Sale and the Westford Winter Market.
