Westford Academy Loses in Softball, Baseball, Lacrosse

May 2 and 3 were not good days for the Ghosts.

 

Wednesday might have been May 2 on the calendar, so it was ironic Westford Academy athletes had something of a mayday situation, recording three losses in three separate sports.

On the baseball diamond, the Ghosts fell to Boston Latin 9-2, as the Wolf Pack's Patrick Naughton struck out 15 in his complete game victory.

The loss dropped the boys to 5-6 on the season. They hope to rebound with contests against Weston today and a "Coaches for Cancer" showdown against Waltham on Wednesday, where they'll raffle off Red Sox private box seats for charity.

Westford also fell to Boston Latin in softball action, 13-7. The Ghosts had a 7-5 lead heading into the sixth until a late Wolf Pack rally.

They dropped to 6-6.

Finishing the trifecta, the boys' lacrosse team fell in Concord-Carlisle, 8-6.

The boys are now 9-4 on the year, but three of those losses came to key Dual County League rivals, including this latest loss.
