Westford Academy Record Holder Commits to Yale
Westford Academy's Brendan Sullivan will be heading to Yale next year.

's Brendan Sullivan announced last week that he will be attending Yale University upon his graduation from Westford this summer.
In addition to being on the honor roll, Sullivan is the current defending Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association record holder in the pole vault with a height of 15-7, and is also the reigning state champion after dominating with a result of 15-0, six inches better than his nearest competitor.
Sullivan is also the school record holder in the boys' 55 meter hurdles.

"Brendan is one of the highest caliber students and athletes I've coached," said Westford Academy track and field coach Phil Archambault. "He is a great teammate and an incredibly hard worker."
Sullivan hopes to join a Yale team that finished 5 out of 8 in the 2011 Ivy League track and field championships. Yale did not enter a pole vaulter in that meet with the event going to Harvard's Nico Weiler, who had a winning result approximately two feet higher than Sullivan's state championship winning performance.
