Westford Academy Softball Defeats Weston 14-4

The Westford Academy softball squad brought their bats to Weston, pounding out 13 hits en route to a 14-4 road victory.
Emily Chateauneuf led the way with a home run, triple and double. Alexa Sullivan also homered and walked twice, while Rachel Desrochers had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Deanna Johnston knocked in 3 runs with a triple on her first Varsity hit.

Winning pitcher Kayleigh Culhane worked into the fifth inning before Christie Raymond came on to earn the save.
Defensively, the Grey Ghost infield turned a key double play in what was then a tie game—third baseman Bianca Tardi fielded a bunt and threw to second basemen Desrochers covering first base and Desrochers then fired across the diamond to shortstop Allie Brody covering third base to nail an advancing runner and complete the double play.
