Westford Communication Workers Agree to New Contract
The Communication Workers of America Local 1051 and the Town of Westford agreed to a new two-year agreement last week.

Town Manager Jodi Ross has announced the Town of Westford ratified a new collective bargaining agreement last week with the Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local #1051.
The contract will last until June 30, 2013 and officially begins retroactively last year.

In Westford, the CWA Local #1051 represents various town employees such as administrative staff, library personel, and police and fire dispatchers among others.
Ross reports that the contract is nearly identical to the other contracts the town government has agreed to with other unions, barring the recent teachers' union agreement.

So far, 11 out of Westford's 12 municipal unions have negotiated new contracts with the town, with Westford's firefighters union, the International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO Local #3126, remaining as the last union without a new contract.
