Westford Deacon To Be Ordained By Boston Archdiocese
A native of the Democratic Republic of Congo who has served as deacon in Westford will be ordained by Cardinal O'Malley this Saturday.

WESTFORD, MA – A Westford deacon is among seven men who will ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Seán O'Malley on Saturday. Father Lambert Nieme has served as deacon at St. Catherine of Alexandria in Westford for the past year.
Nieme, a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has doctoral degrees in philosophy from the Catholic University of Congo and theology from the Catholic University of Leuven la Neuve in Belgium.
He is the ninth of 12 children born to the late Emmanuel and Germaine (Bawomba) Nieme. Two of his siblings have passed away.

Nieme will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Catherine of Alexandria on May 20. He will be ordained Saturday, May 19 at the Mission Church in Boston.
"We give thanks to God for the blessing of these seven men who have generously responded to the call to service in the Church as priests," Cardinal O'Malley said in a statement. "The Archdiocese of Boston welcomes them to our parishes and the ministry of celebrating the sacraments, sharing the gift of faith and witnessing the loving, merciful presence of the Lord. We pray that their priesthood will be the source of many graces for them and the people they serve as we go forth with the mission of building up the Church in the world today."
