Westford is Getting a New Assistant Town Manager
Beginning June 16, Eric Heideman will be Westford's assistant town manager.
Westford is getting a new assistant town manager beginning June 16.
Eric Heideman is leaving his job as the director of facilities for the town of Ashland to tackle the list of duties awaiting him in Westford, according to Town Manager Jodi Ross. Before beginning his position in Ashland, Heidman worked as the director of facilities management in Framingham.
Westford appropriated $400,000 last year for building maintenance and Heideman’s job will include managing that sum of money, Ross said.

In conjunction with building maintenance management, Heideman will assist with a big capital project looming on Westford’s horizon. Some of the upcoming projects include the building of a new fire station, the demolition of the existing fire station, Roudenbush Community Center renovations, expanding the library and the future of the town’s farm, Ross said.
“Heideman has a wealth of facility knowledge,” Ross said.

Heideman received a master’s degree in facilities management from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy as well as a master’s degree in public administration from Framingham State University, according to his LinkedIn page. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of La Verne in California.
“We think (Heideman’s) background is going to fit right in with the needs of this position,” Ross said.
The former assistant town manager, John Mangiaratti, left in April to become the deputy town manager in Andover.
