Westford Grad Breaks Boston College Record

Jimmy Boretti continued his record setting pace during his time as a captain at Westford Academy, putting his name in the Boston College record books last weekend.

2009 Westford Academy graduate Jimmy Boretti made his mark for Boston College last weekend, breaking a school record while competing at the Terrier Invitational on the Boston University campus.

Boretti won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 3:56.17, good enough to break John Maloy's previous record of 3:56.20.

His time was over six seconds faster than the 2nd place finisher and brings him within two seconds of the Division 1 NCAA Championship B qualifying standard, which would have given Boretti a berth in the event at the NCAA Championships upon qualification for the Championships in that or any other event.
