Westford Gulf Parent Company Named A Leader In Diversity

VERC Enterprises, which owns the Gulf at Minot's Corner,was proclaimed as a "Leader In Diversity" by Boston Business Journal earlier this week.

Westford's VERC Enterprises, which owns and operates the on Littleton Road, was named a "Leader in Diversity" by Boston Business Journal earlier this week.

VERC, which owns and operates 24 Massachusetts-based convenience stores, gas stations and car washes, now claims that nearly a quarter of its 200-employee workforce is compromised of individuals with physical or mental disabilities, and that just over ten percent of its workforce hails from various foreign countries ranging from throughout the world.

“We are very honored to be recognized as a leader in diversity and believe that it is a goal that all companies should aspire to," said VERC CEO Leo Vercollone. “What we discovered is that we can be great at bringing in people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. It has been a win-win for our stores and our communities.”
