Westford K-9 Leads Police to Alleged Heroin Dealer

Derek King, of Pond Street, was arrested last week.

An alleged heroin dealer was arrested in Westford last week.

Derek King, 38, of Pond Street, had about 61 grams of heroin packaged for sale, police said.

His arrest stemmed from an unrelated case. On Tuesday at about 10:30 p.m., police said they received a call of a home invasion on Pleasant Street. A K-9 unit responded to the scene, and the dog picked up a track to King’s home nearby, police said. Police said they obtained consent to search the residence and found the drugs.
