Westford Native Named New England Patriots Cheerleader

Patricia Fox, a graduate, was recently named to the 2011 New England Patriots cheerleading squad.

Fox, an environmental engineer, has previously served on the squad.

She went to UMass-Amherst and graduated with a civil engineering degree. At UMass, she was the captain of the dance team that placed second in the 2009 national competition. She has been dancing since she was five years old.

Fox may not have the chance to cheer this season, however, as the NFL players and owners are mired in a labor dispute that could result in the cancellation of the season.
