Westford Schools Move Up In New Rankings

WESTFORD, MA – Westford once again earned high marks from data compiler Niche, which ranked the district among the best in the state. The website's 2019 list of the top public school systems in Massachusetts ranked Westford Public Schools third out of 218 districts in Massachusetts and gave it an overall A+ grade.

Niche used a variety of factors, including SAT/ACT scores and state assessments, student-teacher ratio, school safety, teacher quality and reviews from students and parents for its ranking.

Niche assigns a standardized score for each factor, which is then weighted before an overall score is calculated for each school district. The overall scores are again standardized and some districts are disqualified from receiving a final letter grade if there isn't enough data. Read more about its methodology here.

Westford's strengths are academics, teachers, college preparedness, health and safety and administration, all of which received an A+. But it needs to work on diversity and food, according to Niche, which gave the district a B- and B, respectively.
