WESTFORD, MA — The Westford Select Board has appointed Mark Chambers as the new police chief following a recommendation from Town Manager Jodi Ross.

Chambers has been with the Westford Police Department for 22 years and served as the town's acting police chief since Chief Tom McEnaney retired in January 2021. His appointment is effective as of July 13.

The promotion comes after a several months of assessments and internal interviews conducted by a group of town officials and residents, who were unanimously in favor of his appointment.

As a result of Chambers' promotion, Ron Paulauskas has been appointed as deputy police chief and Don Pick has been appointed as police captain. Both have held these positions as interims since the beginning of the year.

"Please join me in wishing Mark, Ron and Don congratulations and best wishes in their new positions," said Ross in her monthly newsletter.
