Westford Sportsmen's Club Open House a Success

Thank you to the volunteers and the community for making this a success!

Despite the weather forecast, several hundred visitors turned out for the WSC annual Open House on Saturday. The Open House is a chance for the public to come in and see what is behind the gates. The day also offered many opportunities including presentations on wildlife, a hands-on reptile station, and instruction and games at the archery range for all ages.

Many visitors were able to try their hand at fishing at the trout pond where the club had instructors for spin cast fishing as well as fly casting. Adults enjoyed demos at the trap range and the pistol range. The raffle raised “several hundred dollars” that goes directly to the WSC Scholarship fund. Every year, the WSC provides scholarships for Junior Conservation Camp where youths learn respect for the environment, fishing skills, and water safety, among other topics.

The WSC would like to thank everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you next year!
