Westford Student to Perform in 'Landmark' Production of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

The production opens May 7 in Boston.

Westford high school student Brianna Ryder will perform in a production "To Kill a Mockingbird" opening May 7 at the Wimberly Theatre in Boston.

The Boston Children's Theatre is organizing the production, which it called a "landmark."

Mary Badham, who played Scout in the original 1962 film, will be in attendance.

“For so many generations of people, the role of ‘Scout’ has represented an unbiased, nonjudgmental window on the world," said Burgess Clark, the play's director, in a statement. "To welcome the actress who created that persona with us on Opening Night, is truly remarkable."

There will be five performances on the play on May 7, 8, 14 and 15.

The Boston Children's Theatre is a nonprofit that works to bring city and suburban kids together by putting on productions year round. Ticket information can be found on the website.
