Westford Tops Wayland, 19-8

The Westford Academy boys' lacrosse team is now 3-2 and will look for revenge against South Hadley next.

Following tough two losses, Westford Academy's boys' lacrosse team pulled out a solid win at home against Wayland on Thursday, 19-8.

Earlier rain had cancelled the Grey Ghosts' baseball game in Dracut, and had left Trustees' Field slick.

"It was hard fought in the first half, the weather took us off our game," said Westford Academy head coach Marc Tholander. "In the second half we played harder to get back."

The win brought the Ghosts to 3-2, but the two losses were a one goal overtime loss to Reading and a close two goal loss to Lincoln-Sudbury, an indicator of what lies ahead for the Ghosts.

"When you're in the Dual-County League, every game is tough, and we've got a tough out of league schedule as well," said Tholander.
