It was a very close first game back from winter break, but the Yellow Submarines pulled out the win against the Cool Blue.  Leah Bushey, Amy Cornelius and Jillian Chrysikos led the offense with Taryn Chrysikos and Brianna Mills carrying the defense.  The Cool Blue’s offense was carried by Brooke Mains and Katie Fitzsimmons while Kristina Reny led the defense.  It was a great way to restart the season.

 

Black Mambas                      26

Golden Snitches                   20

 

The Black Mambas edged the Golden Snitches 26-20 in a back and forth battle.  The Black Mambas scoring was led by Lizzy Muller with 9 and Ashley Geary with 7.  Golden Snitches scoring leaders were Jenna Klinka with 9 and Tiana Habosian with 4.  Defense for the Mambas was led by Laura Shapiro and rebounding by Courtney Kennedy.  Golden Snitches defense was led by Kyra Kruger and Demi Zhang.

 

Lucky Leprechauns             25

Crocodile Hunters               18

 

Kelly Geraghty and Mackenzie Brewer led the Leprechauns on offense while Molly Aulson and Rebecca O’Neil played great defense.  Nicole Callahan and Katie Campbell played strong offensively for the Crocodiles.

 

Hot Shots                              25

Hot Green Chili Peppers     23

 

The Hot Green Chili Peppers brought all the spice the Hot Shots could handle in a close game that the Hot Shots held on to win 25-23.  Hot Shot scoring was led by Sarah Brunelle, Jackie Joncas, Alicia Razelowski and the recovering Meghan Carlyle.  For the Peppers, it was Kirsten Leary, Juliana Viscione, Michelle Thompson, Becca Shepherd, Caroline Rosinski and Erica Bielen.  Hot Defense was turned in by Kelly Bray, Michi Downey and Lauren Marple.  The Pepper passing attack was crisp and led by Cassie Bernardo, Becca Holtom and Liz McAleese.

 

Ocean Spray                         34

Da Bullz                                 34

 

This game ended up in an incredible tie after two overtime periods, a first for this league.  Ocean Spray and Da Bullz battle to a 34-34  game that was as exciting as a game can be.  Da Bullz were led by Kayla Flanagan with 12 and Rachel Mahan with 9 points and they were well aided by some excellent defense by Kaitlin Canha, Shannon Harris, Molly Curley and Meghan O’Neil.  After falling behind in the second half, Ocean Spray fought back in the final minutes led by Karina Camargo with 16 points and Hailey MacDonald with 10.  Ocean had strong defense by Jessie Wilkinson and Danielle Donovan.  Shannon Donahue crashed the boards for every rebound possible and Nikita Bhasker played strong two way ball. 

 

Butter                                    34

Periwinkle Platypi               30

 

The Butter played some slippery defense and hung on for the win against a determined Periwinkle squad.  Julie Bransfield led Butter in scoring with 14 points including 2 3 pointers.  Abby Hyslip chipped in with 13 points. Anna Gould and Taz Bhindawala made some great plays on offense and defense.  The Periwinkle Platypi were led by Catherine Darin with 11 points and Taylor Freud with 10.
