Westford's Cynosure Acquires Laser Procedure From Rival
The Carlisle Road based medical technology company announced it has acquired the rights to the PinPointe FootLaser system.

In a recent announcement, Carlisle Road-based medical technology company Cynosure reports it has acquired exclusive rights to distribute the "PinPointe FootLaser" from competitor NuvoLase, who acquired the product themselves in early September.
PinPoint became the first light-based product for the treatment of foot fungus to recieve approval from the U.S Food and Drug Administration last year, and is currently cleared for marketing in Australia, Canada and the European Union.
The acquistion proves to be another landmark in a year that has brought as well as for the company, which specializes in light-based cosmetic products.

"The treatment of (foot fungus) represents an emerging opportunity for light-based technology," said Cynosure chief executive officer Michael Davin in a recent statement. "We are acquiring the worldwide exclusive rights to a system that we believe is the leading solution for treating this indication. With almost 100,000 PinPointe FootLaser treatments performed worldwide to date, our distribution agreement with NuvoLase immediately gives us a leadership position in the market."
