Note: Mail in voter registration forms must by postmarked by the deadline.

Currently, the voter registration deadline is 20 days before an election (10 days before a special town meeting). Seventeen-year-olds, beware! You may register while you are still 17 if you will be 18 on or before election day, but you must register at least 20 days before the election.

If you become a US citizen after the voter registration deadline and you register to vote before4:00pm on the day before the election, you are specially qualified to vote in that election.

The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is 12 noon the day before the election. View sample ballots.

According to the Secretary of State’s website, to be counted, a completed absentee ballot must be received at the Town Clerk’s Office before 8:00pm on Election Day. (general state elections have an extended deadline for overseas and military voters).
