Youth Alcohol Liability Law to be Discussed at Stony Brook Middle School Wednesday

Parents can be held responsible for providing alcohol to minors or furnishing a place for them to drink.

Massachusetts is one of several states with a "social host liability law" that holds adults responsible if they provide alcohol to minors or furnish a place for them to drink.

The law will be discussed during a forum Wednesday (March 16) at Stony Brook Middle School at 7 p.m.

Attorney Richard B. Campbell, of the Boston-based Campbell, Campbell, Edwards & Conroy firm will give a multimedia presentation named "Be a Parent, Not a Pal." The presentation will illustrate the consequences of allowing those under 21 to possess alcoholic beverages.
