2-Year Old Suffers Suboxone Overdose

The girl is in stable condition, according to reports.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A young child from Weymouth is recovering from a Suboxone overdose, police said.

Weymouth Police Sgt. Rob Regan told the Patriot Ledger that the girl inadvertently consumed the drug. She was taken into the hospital Wednesday afternoon after her parents found a pill bottle within reach of the child.

The child was taken to South Shore Hospital before being transferred to Boston Children's Hospital.

No arrests have been made, but the case is being investigated by the Department of Children and Families.
