Academic Honors Announcements for Students from Weymouth- March 24

A look at Weymouth students excelling at college.

The following local residents were recently named Charles O. Thompson Scholars at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Joshua Keller of Weymouth, Mass., is a first-year student majoring in computer science.

Gianna Terravecchia of Weymouth, Mass., is a first-year student majoring in engineering.

Caroline O'Sullivan, a resident of Weymouth, MA and a member of the class of 2015 at Providence College, recently spent a week working with Habitat for Humanity as part of the College's Alternative Spring Break 2013 program.

O'Sullivan was among more than 230 Providence College students who volunteered to spend their spring break working at Habitat home sites in 16 locations in the United States. They participated through the Habitat campus chapter at Providence College, which is sponsored by the chaplain's office. O'Sullivan worked on a home project in Monroe, NC.

Daniel McMahon, a member of the class of 2014 from Weymouth, has been named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at Loyola University Maryland.

In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.

Berklee College of Music announces that Liz Lohnes of Weymouth has earned placement on the Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2012 academic year. To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
