2. Learning Exotic Animal Medicine at the New England Wildlife Center (osu.edu) — A veterinary student spent a week training at the New England Wildlife Center in Weymouth, gaining hands-on experience with exotic pets through the low-cost Odd Pet Vet clinic. Their work ranged from caring for reptiles and small mammals to learning about zoonotic disease risks, highlighting how this Weymouth-based nonprofit supports both animals and local pet owners.
3. Lindsay Clancy verdict may take days, legal expert says (patriotledger.com) — As jurors prepare to decide the high-profile Lindsay Clancy case, a legal expert says deliberations could stretch for days, comparing it to other lengthy trials. One example is the Emanuel Lopes case, where a jury ultimately convicted him in the killing of Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna after extended deliberations, underscoring how complex verdicts can be.
4. 25-Year-Old Woman Dismissed 'Egg'-Sized Throat Lump As Bacterial Infection. It Turned Out To Be Hodgkin Lymphoma (survivornet.com) — A 25-year-old woman from Weymouth discovered that a lump she first dismissed as strep throat was actually Hodgkin lymphoma, but she's now cancer-free after chemotherapy. Her story is used to explain lymphoma symptoms, diagnosis, and why pushing for answers and second opinions can be lifesaving for Weymouth residents, too.
