WEYMOUTH, MA —Halloween is almost here, and the streets of Weymouth will soon be filled with ghosts, goblins and trick-or-treaters looking to fill their candy bags.
While the night promises spooky costumes, sweet treats and plenty of fun, the Weymouth Police Department is reminding residents to keep safety a top priority.
Police are encouraging trick-or-treaters to wear bright-colored clothing to make themselves more visible to drivers. Residents are also urged to stick to well-lit areas, stay in familiar neighborhoods and use caution around vehicles.
Parents are also being reminded to inspect their children's candy for anything suspicious before allowing them to dig into their Halloween treats.
With Halloween just around the corner, Weymouth police hope residents will keep these safety tips in mind while enjoying a night filled with costumes, candy and community fun.
