Artist Shares How Weymouth Had Role in Summer Olympics
Artist Paul Soulellis will discuss his new book about Weymouth and its sister-town, Weymouth Dorset.
Next week at the Tufts Library, Artist Paul Soulellis plans to share how Weymouth had a role in this year’s summer Olympics
On October 29 at 7 p.m. Soulellis will explain how Seaside Weymouth in Dorset, England was the site of the Olympic sailing competition and how Weymouth, Massachusetts was the inspiration for a work of art commissioned for the Olympics.
Soulellis, a New York City-based artist, recently produced a 12-part art book, "Weymouths" that explores the place, identity, and memory of Weymouth, MA and Weymouth, Dorset.

According to the Tufts Library, Souiellis collected images and stories for his book by visiting Weymouth, MA twice (once in Winter and once in the Summer).
Next Monday Soulellis will discuss his research, creating the books, and bringing his work to life during the summer Olympics.
