Bed Bug Problem Eating Away At Pope Towers Residents

WEYMOUTH, MA — Residents in an apartment building in Weymouth say they got a case of the bed bugs and nothing is being done to fix the problem.

Residents at Pope Towers tell WFXT that the problem is mainly on the sixth floor, where a girl was bitten last weekend and an elderly woman needed medical assistance following a bite.

Mike Flaherty, the executive director of the Weymouth Housing Authority, said there have been some occasional complaints and two apartments are both getting treated.

Some residents, however, were told that they would never be able to get rid of the pests.

The apartments on the sixth floor were scheduled to be inspected for bed bugs Wednesday.
