Boston Man Charged with Selling Heroin in Weymouth
Police say Rony Pena had over 18 grams of the drug on him.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Boston man faces charges for trafficking and distributing heroin in Weymouth, police said.
Tuesday, Rony Pena, 24, was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin , distribution of heroin, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws., according to the Weymouth Police Department. He was held over night on $25,000 cash bail.
At 2:45 p.m., police say they observed Pena conduct a drug deal with a known heroin user in a parking lot at the corner of Washington Street and Mutton Lane. Detectives followed Pena to an address on Norton Street where they witnessed another alleged drug transaction with another known drug user. Detectives approached Pena and the male he met and questioned them. The other male turned over a bag of heroin that he admitted to having just purchased from Pena. Detectives then recovered over 18 grams of heroin from Pena leading to the heroin trafficking charges. They also recovered over $1,500 in cash from Pena, police said.

Pena is due to be arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court.
