Brockton Man Charged In Weymouth Home Invasion

WEYMOUTH, MA – One man is under arrest and a second suspect is being sought after a home invasion and pistol-whipping of a victim on Green Street in Weymouth early Wednesday morning. Jeffrey Anitus, of Brockton, was found in the backyard of a home on Sunrise Drive with the help of the Weymouth K9 unit.

The second suspect escaped the scene on foot and has yet to be identified.

Police said they were called to Green Street for a robbery by one of the victims who was able to escape the house. A second victim, who said they were pistol-whipped, said the suspects wore ski masks, ransacked the home and fled with cash and other items. Police said they witnessed two suspects running toward Shaw Street and were able to track one of them in the snow.

Anitus was charged with home invasion, robbery with a firearm while armed and masked, larceny, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Anitus was arraigned in Quincy Superior Court.
