Chapman School Project Close to $1 Million Feasibility Study

The study will look at if the town should renovate the current school or build a new one.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Town Council vote could decide if the next phase of the Chapman Middle School project, which includes the feasibility study, will get funded.

The feasibility study is one of the more important parts of the project and will look at if it's in the town's best interest to build a new school or renovate. The $1 million study is funded by mitigation payments made by LStar Management, master developer of the Union Point project, according to the Patriot Ledger.

The council could vote on the study at their Oct. 17 meeting, which would allow the Mass. School Building Authority to consider accepting the project into the feasibility study phase at their Nov. 9 meeting.
