Chris Primiano Kicks-Off Weymouth Town Council Campaign
The Weymouth resident will run for town council.

With family and friends encouraging him to pursue a seat on the Weymouth Town Council, Chris Primiano formally announces his intention to run for a seat on the Council in the upcoming 2015 election.
“Since my last run for this office in 2013 I recognized that the community really did not know who I was. Since then I have actively, visibly and committedly engaged in various aspects of our Town’s government – speaking, commenting and lending ideas and thoughts to our Town Leaders and residents. I realized after the election in 2013 that if I truly wanted to be a voice for change I could not just sit on the sidelines and wait for the November 2015 election. I recognized that if I really wanted to be an advocate for change in our community I need to be consistently engaged, involved and continue to increase my advocacy within our community on the issues that are important to all,” Primiano said in a statement.
In his announcement, Primiano described his campaign for office and his vision to see a return of common sense, accountability and transparency to Weymouth residents.

“Weymouth is past the crossroads that has been referred to by our Town Leaders, we are in need of new leadership that will take Weymouth in a new direction on all levels – fiscally, educationally, but most importantly someone that will help drive the much needed economic development.
Our leaders at all levels of Town Government need to be held accountable for our current state. I will not just sit on the Council commenting on what is before me as I believe it is necessary for Councilors to take a proactive and vocal approach to the issues that are facing our community today. I will not be a silent voice and I will not have hidden agendas -what you see is what you get. I am a direct person and you will get direct answers – the good, bad and the ugly and that is the accountability and transparency we need in our community.

Over the last several years I have analyzed our revenue problems, our lack of economic development, our fiscally struggling schools, and the challenges our Police, Fire and Public Works Departments have had to deal with as a result of similar constrained budgets that result in limited resources year after year.
We need new ideas for growth and to formally pursue and implement ideas that have been only talked about for years, for example, working with National Real Estate Investment firms to showcase Weymouth and its potential or implementing a Fire Based Ambulance Service in lieu of outsourcing this revenue generating operation to a private company.
Over the last eight years we have seen little change in Town leadership and only diminishing services, increased costs, severely underfunded schools and a justified frustration by residents. This wait and see approach by the current administration is not acceptable.
We need new voices of elected leadership in this town as some of the current incumbency has not made significant progress in cultivating a collaborative relationship with the administration and the public in regards to not effectively dealing with these perennial issues.
Only recently have we seen last minute “election –day” efforts by the administration and council to start to rectify our economic status, through override measures. I believe this is in part due to advocacy of some residents who have been vocal about school funding and general Town wide- finances. I am proud to say that I have been amongst those vocal individuals,” he added.
Primiano indicated that his life experiences, professional expertise, organizational skills, political philosophy and understanding or the willingness to admit when he needs more information on an issue uniquely qualifies him to be an outstanding representative of Weymouth as a Councilor at Large.” He further stated, “I will use my nearly 30 years of business experience enhanced by common sense and apply it to my term as Councilor.”
