Coronavirus: Weymouth To Waive Online Town Payment Fees
Weymouth with reimburse online payment fees as it urges that form of payment for property, excise taxes, and water bills.
WEYMOUTH, MA — With the closure of Weymouth Town Hall to the public, residents are urged to use online resources to play property, excise, real estate taxes and water bills. Gov. Baker filed legislation to give municipalities flexibility on tax deadlines and late-payment penalties for fourth quarter tax bills. Town officials said they will be reviewing these options to be able to make a
determination when the legislation passes.
Because paying online includes a convenience fee (which is charged by the vendor, not the town) for credit card payments, for those who utilize the online credit card option to pay a bill while the tax collectors office is closed, the town will pay that fee. Those residents who have already paid the fee will receive a credit.

There is an e-check online option for a minimal 40 cent fee (less than a stamp). In addition, the town also has a drop-box at Town Hall (parking lot side by the handicap entrance) for taxpayer's
convenience to submit payments with a check. The tax collector's office continues to process these drop-box payments as part of its determined essential services during this time.
