Driver Cited for Striking Weymouth Police Cruiser
Both the officer and the driver were taken to South Shore Hospital after the crash.

WEYMOUTH, MA - A Quincy man was cited Monday afternoon after striking a Weymouth police cruiser.
At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Officer Kenneth Murphy and his K-9 partner Zekk were driving down Middle Street with their lights and sirens on to respond to a 911 call. Another vehicle operated by the 54-year-old male from Quincy attempted to take a left turn out of the Town Hall onto Middle Street. While making the turn, the Quincy man pulled out in front of the police cruiser and was struck broadside, according to the Weymouth Police Department.
Both operators were transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Zekk was taken by another K-9 handler to be evaluated but had no injuries.

The driver received a citation for failure to yield when turning left and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
