East Bridgewater Man Arrested for Weymouth Break-in After Resisting Arrest, Falling 20 Feet

On Friday, August 28, 2015, Weymouth Police arrested Sean V. McCune, age 21, of East Bridgewater for breaking and entering into a home on Off Station Street residence in Weymouth.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., police received a call from the homeowner reporting their residence was broken into. Shortly after his arrival Detective West observed a male party walking up an embankment towards the commuter railroad tracks away from the area of the break. Two Weymouth Detectives approached the male party and observed property, inside an open backpack, belonging to the victims. As detectives attempted to place McCune under arrest he began to aggressively resist. After a brief struggle, McCune leapt forward, causing himself and a detective to fall approximately 20 feet onto a concrete walkway.

After a continued struggle detectives were able to place Sean McCune under arrest. McCune was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, receiving stolen property over $250.00, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, two counts assault and battery on a police officer. It was also determined McCune had one default warrants for his arrest.

McCune was held on $5000 bail and will be arraigned today, Monday, August 31, 2015, at Quincy District Court.

Despite the fall the Weymouth detective and Sean McCune’s injuries were minor and non-life threatening.
