East Bridgewater’s Eugene Duffy, NR-P, Appointed to PCO Hope Board of Directors
South Weymouth, Mass., (October 15, 2018) –East Bridgewater resident Eugene Duffy, NR-P, director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for South Shore Health System, was recently appointed to Plymouth County Outreach (PCO) Hope’s board of directors.
PCO Hope
is a collaboration of public safety agencies and healthcare providers created
to respond to the ever-growing number of opiate overdoses by
conducting follow-up visits within 12-24 hours after an overdose. The
program is not limited to those addicted to opiates, it is for everyone
impacted by addiction.
As director
of Emergency Medical Services at South Shore Health System, Duffy leads a team
of more than 120 paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in
providing pre-hospital care to the Town of Weymouth and South Shore Hospital’s
EMS operations.
Duffy
joined the Health System in 2000. He earned a degree in Architectural Studies
and Computer Aided Design in Dublin, Ireland. He completed his EMT training at
Northeastern University’s Dublin campus and graduated from the paramedic
program at Northeastern University’s Boston campus. He is currently pursuing
his Masters degree in healthcare administration.
Duffy
is a board member for the Metro Boston EMS Council, where he plays an
instrumental role in advancing EMS for 62 cities and towns including the City
of Boston.
He resides
in East Bridgewater and has been involved with East Bridgewater (EB) Hope by
providing Narcan training through South Shore Health System’s Mobile Simulation
Lab.
