Ex-Cop Convicted Of Tax Crimes Could Face Weymouth Charges

A former Whitman police sergeant turned insurance agent has been accused of fraud by a Weymouth woman and two Brockton residents.

WEYMOUTH, MA – An area insurance agent poised to report to federal prison Thursday for tax embezzlement could face additional charges in Weymouth, according to The Enterprise. Glenn Pearson, a former Whitman police sergeant fired from the department in 2001 for misconduct, pleaded guilty last year to embezzling more than $250,000 from eight disabled veterans from 2007-2012 and was sentenced to 48 months in prison.

Pearson's business, CHC Insurance, moved from Whitman to Brockton after it was raided by federal authorities in 2015. His license was revoked in January and he was ordered to cease all business operations, The Enterprise reported.

Now a Weymouth woman and two Brockton residents are accusing him of insurance fraud. Weymouth Police Captain Richard Fuller told The Enterprise the department expects to file charges against Pearson.
