Investigators say William R. Hartnett embezzled over $260,000.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A former executive at Weymouth Bank has been indicted by a grand jury.

William R. Hartnett, 45, is scheduled to be arraigned March 28 on three counts each of fiduciary embezzlement and larceny of more than $250 by a single scheme, according to the Patriot Ledger. He is accused of embezzling over $260,000 from accounts for his sister's children that were set up after the death of herself and her husband.

Bank officials were alerted to the alleged activity after an anti-money laundering system alerted them to unusual activity.
