Weymouth Firefighter Battles Blaze on Drive to Work

WEYMOUTH, MA - A Weymouth firefighter got a head start on work Friday, putting out a fire on his way to work.

Friday morning, firefighter Jason Farrar noticed heavy smoke from a Thicket Street home according to the Patriot Ledger. When Farrar went to the house, he saw a resident using a garden hose to fight the flames. Farrar went into the home to see if the fire spread into the attic and took control of the hose until fire crews showed up.

About $2,000 in damage was done to the home. The cause is under investigation.
