Former Braintree Finance Director Named Weymouth CFO

Weymouth, MA — A former Braintree official has been tapped to fill a vacancy in Weymouth Mayor Robert Hedlund's administration.

Monday night, the Weymouth Town Council approved the appointment of Brian Connolly, a Medford resident, as the town’s new chief financial officer.

Connolly told the board that he has 23 years of government experience and has worked as a town administrator and a treasurer-tax collector. He previously worked as Braintree’s finance director from 2006-2008, according to the Patriot Ledger.

The position has been vacant for about a year. Last June, William McKinney left Weymouth to take a job with the state.
