Kay and Hedlund Take Weymouth Mayoral Preliminary Election
The two move on to November's general election.

Mayor Susan Kay and state Senator Robert Hedlund, Jr. are the two remaining candidates for mayor after Tuesday’s preliminary election.
The two were the top vote-getters, with Hedlund receiving 5,209 votes and Kay earning 2,200. School Committee Chairman Sean Guilfoyle placed third with 1,459 votes. Robert Mongomery Thomas received 277, Joseph Cellini received 210, and Edward Conway, III received 63.
9,445 votes were cast in the election, with a turnout total of 27.82 percent.

Kay and Hedlund will now face off in the general election on Nov. 3.
