Leap Day Babies Born at South Shore Hospital

The hospital has announced their Leap Day babies.

WEYMOUTH, MA - For two newborn at South Shore Hospital, birthdays will be rare and occur once every four years.

Monday evening, the hospital announced that they had two leap year babies. The first, young Ivam DeAndrade-Ribeiro, was expected to be born on March 1 but came into the world at 12:47 a.m.

A little more than two hours later, Emma Fairbanks clocked in at 3:04 a.m., according to the hospital.

The hospital said at least five more babies will share the unusual birthday, with the potential for a few more before the end of the day
